Three Day Weekend And How I Punk'd The Parade

Monkey Claus lives!

[edit: the monkey gets pissed off at Blogger when an entire post is written and Blogger loses it when the monkey presses post]

When you wake up not feeling so well on a Monday and stay home from work it becomes an unofficial three-day weekend. Of course when you sit around and do little but watch movies and television it becomes a day off for the body and mind. I did manage to watch Bruce Almighty, which turned out to not be that bad afterall, but did tend to act like a typical Jim Carey movie with typical Jim Carey humor.

Last night episode#1 of the new Battlestar Galactica was on Sci-Fi. Overall I wasn't that thrilled by the show. I think if I had not been a fan of the original series, last nights viewing would have been very boring. The story is pretty rehashed and the special effects aren't quite up to par with what I would expect from a modern sci-fi show in space. The conclusion is on tonight and I'll watch, but I'm not setting my hopes too high. It just feels like another one of those 'we can't think of anything original, so let's rehash a 1970's tv show' type shows.

Saturday was the day I punk'd the city's annual Christmas parade with my monkey on a wagon. I only thought of doing this the night before, but it turned out to be well worth it. I was walking with my daughters Girl Scout troop plus some parents. Our group was tiny and didn't have much else beyond cute girls and a small banner, which to most people watching on the curb is pretty boring. A small monkey with a Santa hat on a mini Radio Flyer red wagon is not. I heard plenty of 'look at the monkey' or 'that monkey is so cute' comments. I didn't steal the thunder from Santa, but I bet nobody expected to see a monkey on a wagon in the parade and that's how the punk'd the parade.

Speaking of getting punk'd, the AIA definitely got punk'd by whoever worked on the graphics for this page. How that image ever got approved is beyond me. Hey AIA, you got punk'd!!!!

Everybody wins with Blogstakes SLAPPA HardBody contest. Really. Sign up and win some swag. This is good swag and not some fake schwag. Okay, I'll admit I thought it was 'schwag' for a long time as well.
