Solutions To Turnover, Oh Wait Make That Dirty Underwear Instead

For some reason in the office I work in turnover is almost as high as McDonalds. Okay, maybe not that bad, but for a professional office you'd think things would be better. Last week we had one of the other interns leave to go work at another office in town. He started about 6 months after I did, and I've been here almost 6 years now. It's almost like 'this is the place to work until something better comes along'. With the general time it takes for someone to get up to speed on how stuff in an architecture office really works, it would make more sense to make it worthwhile for people to stay. Things are getting better, but if I was running the show, things would be different.

Today was the last straw on our offices website host as well. We've been with Valueweb for about 4 years and their hosting isn't bad, but it's not great either. The hosting package we have is far from robust and email on their servers is so spotty it's almost a joke. Today we've had no email for the last 4 hours. In business that's not kosher, and since I am the most knowledgeable person in the office about anything technologically related, I get all the questions:

Is email down? Why isn't email working? When will email be working?

The great answer is always, 'the host sucks, nothing I can do about it'. I guess that was only partially true, since today I finally said, 'ENOUGH!'. So, if all goes as planned, by next Friday this will be the end of this problem.
