24: I'm Santa Claus, And Today Is The Longest Day Of My Life
Yep, he knows if you've been naughty or nice. He's someone you don't want to mess with. He's someone who has to deal with the longest day of his life every year. He's..... Santa AND Jack Bauer. Yes, Santa Claus, father Christmas, Kris Kringle. You know the man. But do you know how relentless he is?
a legendary, gift-giving icon who, according to legend, distributes presents to ALL OF THE sleeping children who have been "good" all year; traditionally during the night of December 24.
And, Jack Bauer, special agent for CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit). You know the man. But do you know how relentless he is?He is a key member of CTU who has prevented major terrorist attacks on the United States, saving both civilians and government leaders MANY TIMES. He has done so at great personal expense, as those he has thwarted have come after him and his loved ones many times.
Now, I think something that everyone can agree on, is that both of these characters are larger than life figures. They both have taken on employment that is demanding and basically can really take away everything from them on a personal level, however, the truth is both of these men do this only ONE day out of every year. Yep, one day. Okay, Santa has been doing it a bit longer than Agent Bauer, but Jack is back January 14, 2007 for season six. Santa is back tonight for season, well, too many to count. I don't think that Santa has been shot at nearly as many times as Jack Bauer has. Of course if I was Santa this year, I might fly the long way round to avoid Iraq. Now, where I am located, there's only a few hours left on December 24th, but that doesn't mean it's only twenty-four hours. With the International Date Line, it's been December 24th longer than 24 hours. So, technically Santa has had a much longer day than Jack Bauer will have. So, gun shots versus a longer day, which is harder? The irony is that while Jack Bauer can't deliver Santa, Santa can deliver Jack Bauer at Christmas. Yep, do you have your 24 Box Set yet? What it really comes down to, is that maybe you don't believe in Santa or maybe you don't believe in Jack Bauer. Maybe this has been very confusing, but if you believe for just one day or so, maybe you'll find something inside you didn't know existed. Maybe you'll just give in and trust that the fate of Christmas or The World, is in their hands and not yours. Or maybe it's the other way round.strauss said:

Strauss - have you actually watched the show 24? If so, I think you might see there is quite a few inside jokes from the video. Those kids did a good job.

Oh yes I have seen 24...yes I get it. hooray for them.
Maybe my appreciation of 24 is not the same as that of a certain other male person residing in this house. I can relate to that other guy wanting to seek and destroy the box set.
12 wasted minutes of my life, which I will never get back. That u-tube thing was really quite excrutiating.
