Smokey Flavored Pizza From Dominos?
11.06.2007
Lately I've noticed that the Domino's Pizza on third street is gone and a dry cleaning shop has taken its place. Not really something that really makes a big difference to me these days. I used to like Domino's Pizza, but haven't had it in quite a while. I think it is one of those things where your taste buds desire a more refined pizza taste as you get older. I guess I mentioned the store on third street gone, because I still see the cars and trucks driving around with the Domino's Pizza signs. I always wondered about delivery places like this where the employees get to drive their own cars. You have no idea what has been or taken place in that vehicle. I know, the pizza box is inside the special heat bag (or whatever it is called), but does it actually keep out other things besides just keeping the heat in? Yesterday on my way home from work, I spotted a small Honda with the Domino's sign. I pulled up next to the car and thought about asking about where Domino's moved to (out of curiosity). Of course the driver of the car looked like he had headphones on and was smoking. What? Smoking? Now, while it's not illegal yet everywhere, it's pretty common these days to expect restaurants to be smoke free. If your server brought out of your food while smoking, I'm thinking you might protest. I know, I'm sure the guy stops smoking when he walks up to the door with your pizza, but at that point he's outside the car, and it probably would matter even less. Granted, this is not Pizza Hut and it's not dead bodies, but I don't think the idea of my pizza riding around in someone's car while they are smoking sounds very appetizing. Another reason to skip pizza delivery.

I've seen the Domino's folks driving around, too, but didn't know the one on 3rd isn't there any more. Maybe they're coming from the Redmond one? (shrugs)

I used to love Domino's in high school, not because of their pizza quality, but because our little group that I hung out with in high school knew everybody on the staff there, so pizzas were never more than a couple bucks.
Now, I'm a Papa Murphy's guy as everything else is just too expensive or crap.
