A Day Wiser
01.17.2007
You could say I am a day wiser. Just yesterday I wrote about pizza, and in fact had pizza for dinner. Not Domino's, but Papa Murphy's. One of the major problems with pizza you bake at home, is the fact that when it is done, you can get so excited and pop it right into your mouth. I know, I know, you should wait a few minutes, but do you always? Nope. Then you know what happens. Mouth burn! Ouch! Yep, roof top mouth burn, and it hurts. You know better, but you pop the too hot food right into your mouth. Today I had pizza once again. This time it was from Pizza Mondo. The good thing about restaurant pizza, is that they bring it to you, and thus it has some time to cool while being pulled from the over and brought out to your table. Yes, it's still hot, but slightly less hot. This time I also waited a minute. Yes, that tough, tough, minute where your mouth waters (even though it had just been burned the previous night) and your eyes bulge (just like when you burn your mouth on too hot food). Ahhhhhhhh, enjoyment, and NO MOUTH BURN. A day wiser? Yes, indeed. A year wiser, perhaps.

We've been holding on to the pizzas that we make for just this reason. When it's 1-minute out of the oven, the cheese is a dangerous weapon against the roof of your mouth. Giving it a minute to cool and stick to the crust makes it taste even better!
Mmmmm - Pizza Mondo. Great pizza. Great Caesar salads, too.

What up Monkey?!?
Papa Murphy's is a favorite of mine. I like my pizza cooked, and many places don't cook it long enough. So when the pizza comes out sizzling and bubbling with molten lava cheese and sauce...cut that sucker up. Then put on your condiments like oregano, crushed red pepper, garlic, black pepper, and of course Parmesian cheese.
Going through this motion definitely helps.
I also eat my Papa Murphy's with a fork to slow down...or else I'll wolf it down and burn myself.
