The first part of this series was written almost a year ago. A conversation with The Teacher last night prompted me to look at this. The question we asked each other was "a year ago would you have ever predicted where you'd be now today?"
Where was I last year at this time? Las Vegas - the place that epitomizes the American Dream. Deep fried Twinkees and stretch Hummers. What else could you ask for> It was also pretty hot as I recall. Not mid-90's sissy hot weather, but the real deal.
Nothing is better than walking around in 110+ plus weather, then going in 60 degree casinos: hot, then cold, then hot, then cold, with wedding chapels all around. Hmmmmm.. sounds a little familiar on where I was in my life.
So, a year later, things are quite different and many dreams have certainly changed for the better. Ten days until the big event with The Teacher and there's no reason to look back. It always fascinating in life on how you go from one place to another and how simple actions you make can lead you down certain paths. So, whatever actions, or paths I happened to take, I have ended up here and it's exactly where I want to be.
It's not always the dream that you dreamt about that you get to live, but rather the dream that came true instead. Not bad at all.
