Now That I'm Fed, I Can Recount Some Stories Of Recent Events

08.22.2009

Moved in, unpacked & hot

A couple of shredded beef tacos, a carne asada taco, a good beer and I'm ready to write once again. Ahhhhhhh... nothing like moving, unpacking and heat to zap away all of the inspiration for writing something for this site. Sure, I cold have written entries titled "unpacking: how to remove stuff from boxes" or "I have more empty cardboard boxes than I can shake a stick at or pack in our recycling bin" or "it's hot, but at least it's a dry heat".

Truly inspiring stuff.

Since the wonderful wedding experience, The Teacher and I have had a lot of focus on getting the rest of her stuff to Bend. Last Tuesday the final load made it here. We've also found ourselves figuring out where to put stuff and what we have too much of, and what stuff we still need to get. So far it's worked out rather well. Not too many duplicates, and where we did have some, one of us had a "better one", so it was a session of upgrades all around and Martha Stewart would be proud or where we are currently at.

In other news, I recall mentioning in a previous entry that certain news would be revealed later. I think this image sums it up just fine:

In other news, last week, The Teacher and I managed to squeeze in a Bend Elks game. She had not yet experienced the fun of Vince Genna stadium, and we actually missed the regular season and hit game one of the playoffs. Truly an even better experience, and I was impressed how almost all of the fans stayed until the end of the game, rather than the usual thinning of the crowd around the 7th inning.

Now that the heat spell seems to have departed once again, I'm looking forward to getting more stuff done around the new place. We're working on having less stuff stuffed into our place, and I'm looking forward to our organizational plan we are starting to implement. The heat put a slight delay on it over the last few weeks, but things are lining up nicely now. August isn't quite done yet. More more more! Wait, that's not heat or cardboard I'm requesting more of either, just so you know.
