It's All About The Details

Yesterday I was watching an older episode of Mad Men (yeah, I know, I'm late to the party) where art director Salvatore Romano had one of the female office workers hitting on him. One of the other staff in the art department commented on "they always can tell who makes money". His reply was simple, "I've told you before, It doesn't take money to dress better than you do Duane."

I thought about this today as I was walking into my office. Sure, we have a casual dress code and wearing a three-piece suit would probably be overkill. However, I'm loving the dress shirt with French cuffs I have as well as the cufflinks that The Teacher gave me. Sure, if we were having an important client meeting, dressing a bit nicer would certainly be justified. I guess it's nice knowing I have options.

I walked into the front door, greeted the receptionist and went to my desk to sit down. It was at that point I realized my fly was unzipped. I don't think cufflinks would have hidden that detail of dressing finer.
